PERRY CANESTRARI - TENOR

Born and raised in Montreal, Canada,  Perry Canestrari has studied Voice and Percussion at the Faculty of Music of McGill University. Perry Canestrari  is a classical tenor who performs a distinctive style influenced by the great master voices of this art form. Perry is the pride of the Montreal Italian community, and other diverse communities. Perry has performed for audiences throughout Canada and the U.S.A. Perry performs a repertoire which spans a broad artistic range encompassing the classical, musical comedy, operetta, Neapolitan ballads to popular music.  

Perry started his Operatic career at the Opera Workshop of McGill University and distinguished himself in performances of the classical Italian operas of Puccini, Verdi and Donizetti. During this period, Perry was also a member of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Choir.

Perry has sung the National Anthems at sporting events held at the former Montreal Forum, the former Molson Centre, and the Bell Centre, and the Olympic Stadium and has performed at concert venues such as Place des Arts de Montréal and  Notre Dame Basilica . He also participated in televised programs in Canada and the United States and has performed in two movies. Perry regularly performs at festivals, fund raising concerts, corporate and private functions, dinner-concerts and “Bel Canto” evenings in numerous cities throughout Canada and the United States. Perry has performed as a featured soloist with I Musici de Montreal, L’Ensemble Amati,  and the Orchestre Metropolitain de Montreal.

Perry Canestrari has participated in the Montreal and Toronto Song Festivals and was a prize winner at the Italian Original Song Festival held in Toronto in 2001, 2003, 2006 & 2010.  He has also recorded  several CD’s, with the George Fiori Orchestra, and the ever popular Classicomania, for Luc Caron.

Perry Canestrari sings in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Latin. His voice is warm and passionate and his performance is seemingly effortless. His remarkable voice and passion for music demonstrate a mastery only few vocal artists can achieve.
